Product Description
BEEP DISINFECTANT SPRAY – ISLAND BREEZE
Beep Disinfectant Spray has not yet been tested against the virus responsible for COVID-19.1 However, its efficacy can be predicted using virology facts and findings of published scientific studies.
Coronaviruses are enveloped viruses (i.e. they are encased within a lipid membrane). Of the different virus classes, enveloped viruses are the easiest to destroy using chemical disinfectants. Studies have proven that ethanol concentrations similar to that of Beep Disinfectant Spray are effective in killing other types of coronaviruses (e.g. SARS coronavirus, MERS coronavirus). It is therefore expected that these ethanol concentrations, and by extension Beep Disinfectant Spray, will be effective against the COVID-19 virus.
Notes
1. The occurrence of emerging viral pathogens like the one that causes COVID-19 cannot be predicted. Commercial laboratories are often unable to obtain virus samples and develop test methods to allow for timely efficacy testing of disinfectant products during an outbreak.
